Job Responsibilities
Shipping Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety check and signs off on daily equipment check list certifying everything is in good operating condition. Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements. Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock. Notify the Supervisor of shortages. Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements. Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices. Maintain/organize work area for safety and efficiency. Stock racks in the warehouse. Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point. Organize pick tickets/BOLs and double check shipments before loading. Assists other employees when needed with loading, lifting, and searching for freight. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and supervisors. Assists customers and drivers when they come to the dock to pick up freight. Receiving Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment. Sort, count, package, label, and put away inventory that is received. Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify management of findings. Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items. Stock racks in the warehouse. Operate pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment. Operate stretch-wrap machines.
Job Requirements
Education
High School or above
Experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents written in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, auditors, and customers and others. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights being loaded. Must have the ability to operate a forklift. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate forklift operators certification. Must be able to operate a non-motorized pallet jack.
