Responsibilities
Operate and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and associated equipment. Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities as per the maintenance schedule. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults in refrigeration equipment. Monitor system parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil levels, refrigerant levels, and compressor performance. Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, abnormal vibrations, and equipment defects. Ensure compliance with ammonia handling procedures and safety regulations. Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and operating parameters. Supervise contractors during shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities. Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain inventory records. Participate in emergency response activities related to ammonia leakage or equipment failure. Implement energy-saving and reliability improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company safety standards.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
Experience
in food processing, cold storage, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing plants is preferred. Technical Skills Operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems. Screw and reciprocating compressors. Refrigeration control systems and PLC-based automation. Pumps, valves, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and heat exchangers. Preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Reading P&IDs and engineering drawings. Safety standards related to ammonia refrigeration.
