Job Summary
Join Cooley Dickinson Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham, as our Radiation Therapy Manager and play a pivotal leadership role in delivering exceptional cancer care. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Radiation Therapists while overseeing the daily clinical and operational functions of a growing Radiation Oncology department. As both a clinical expert and strategic leader, you will ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of radiation therapy services, champion high-quality patient care, and foster a collaborative, patient-centered environment. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of daily treatment operations, ensuring appropriate staffing across treatment areas, monitoring patient volumes, and maintaining seamless workflows to support exceptional patient care. You'll partner closely with Lead Radiation Therapists to implement new treatment techniques, troubleshoot complex clinical cases, coordinate emergent patient care and on-call activities, and promote continuous improvement and standardization of clinical practices. As a subject matter expert, you'll guide your team in the effective use of the electronic medical record (EMR) and Record & Verify systems, support quality assurance processes, and ensure safe, accurate treatment delivery while leading the department through operational challenges, including equipment downtime. Beyond clinical leadership, you'll drive the operational success of the department by leading recruitment, onboarding, staff development, competency programs, and annual performance evaluations while fostering a culture of learning and professional growth. You'll collaborate with the Director of Cancer Services to support strategic planning, budgeting, staffing models, and resource allocation, while overseeing departmental policies, radiation treatment supplies, vendor partnerships, and staff education. This role also plays a key part in advancing quality improvement initiatives, maintaining accreditation and regulatory readiness, and ensuring compliance with ACR, Massachusetts DPH, and Joint Commission standards. Through close collaboration with Radiation Oncology leaders across the Mass General Brigham system, you'll help implement best practices, support system-wide initiatives, and continuously enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy required or Master's Degree in a related field of study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
Licenses and Credentials
Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred ARRT registered RT(T) MA RT(T) license
Experience
5-7 years as a Radiation Therapist with 1-2 years in a lead, manager or supervisory role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrate efficient knowledge of all equipment operation, tools and procedures specific to assigned area, and effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal professional relationships with physicians, supervisor, direct reports, peers, patients, and their families. Knowledge of laboratory management best practices, quality assurance techniques, and test development and interpretation. Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and interpret results. Ability to supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate work results of employees. Computer skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MOSAIQ, Peoplesoft, EBuy, Kronos.
