Job Description Harborview Medical Center - Admitting has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist Supervisor. WORK SCHEDULE 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Monday – Friday; 6:00am-2:30pm Day Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Patient Services Specialist Supervisor (PSS-Supervisor) oversees various supervisory and administrative non-clinical functions within the department. This role is responsible for leading and supervising staff in the Patient Services Specialist class series, as well as other assigned personnel. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure smooth daily operations and patient safety by prioritizing tasks and managing workflow. Oversee staff scheduling, HR data systems, and deliver high-quality customer service. Track inventory, submit repair orders, and support departmental quality improvement efforts. Supervise and support staff while modeling professional and courteous communication. Develop, implement, and maintain organizational systems and unit procedures. Collaborate to uphold safety standards, infection control, and emergency protocols. Advocate for patients and families, ensuring privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. Foster teamwork across departments and represent the unit in meetings and committees. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, hospital policies, and Epic ADT systems. Lead and participate in training, continuing education, and professional development. Demonstrate strong coordination, multitasking, and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience working with diverse populations. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in a medically related or public relations field Four years of experience as a Patient Services Specialist An equivalent combination of four years’ experience as a Patient Services Specialist, a UW Supervisory Skill Certificate, and education/experience may substitute for stated requirements ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER Harborview Medical Center is the region’s only Level I Trauma and verified burn center.
