This 18-month contract offers the opportunity to apply your technical accounting expertise within the BD business, supporting revenue recognition across capital equipment, consumables, and service contracts. You’ll collaborate with commercial and functional teams, uphold compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to a culture that values precision, accountability, and continuous improvement. Your Day-to-Day As a Revenue Accountant at BD, you’ll ensure timely, accurate, and compliant revenue recognition across the MMS business in line with ASC 606 and IFRS 15. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders across Sales, Legal, and Commercial to ensure contracts are structured and documented appropriately, and that all revenue is recognised in accordance with BD’s standards. Your day will include: Performing accurate revenue recognition for capital equipment, consumables, and service contracts in line with ASC 606 / IFRS 15. Following the five-step revenue recognition process to assess performance obligations, pricing, and revenue allocation. Reviewing and analysing customer contracts, including rebates and bundled service elements, to determine appropriate accounting treatment. Ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place to support compliant revenue recognition. Reconciling service contracts and monitoring deferred revenue balances for timely release. Preparing and maintaining revenue schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations. Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including reporting and variance analysis. Assisting with internal and external audits through detailed documentation and explanations. Partnering with teams across the business to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and control. About You You’re a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical knowledge and confidence to work with senior stakeholders. You bring a solutions-focused mindset, a high level of integrity, and the ability to hold others accountable while maintaining strong relationships. You’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred. Minimum 3 years’ experience in revenue accounting or recognition. Sound knowledge of ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15. Background in medical devices, healthcare, or technology sectors advantageous. Strong Excel skills and experience with SAP (preferred). Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability. Flexibility and commitment to support key month-end and reporting cycles. Why BD?
