Job Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design and development of Water treatment products. This role involves working under the guidance of experienced engineers, conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to the optimization of production processes.
Responsibilities
Create 3D models and CAD drawings of engineered products / process equipment, including creation of general arrangement, assembly and fabrication drawings. Conversion of 2D Drawings to 3D Models, modify, improve, and reverse engineering of existing designs and products.
Experience
in working with i-Factories and i-Properties of 3D Model files. Create and update Meta-Data of designs and 3D models in PDM/PLM system (Vault Pro) for records, control and retrieval. Completion of Meta-Data of 3D Model files to get to a “release” ready status. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) in enterprise resource planning (ERP / SAP) system. Design and detailing of Wastewater Treatment Products like Pressure Sand filters, Self-Cleaning filters, Hydro-Cyclones, In-take screens, Filter Press, Clarifiers, Thickeners, Disinfection systems etc., Perform Root Cause Analysis of design / dimensional errors and bring out corrective action. Prepare ECN (Engineering Change Notice) or DCN (Design Change Notice) and coordinate to complete the process. Review and continuously improve the existing modeling approach to reduce the modeling / design execution time. Cross functional interaction / coordination to ensure product / equipment design meeting the complete technical requirement. Collaborate with Project Engineers to address technical requirement and coordinate with global team to address design queries. Academic and Professional
Requirements
BE / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First Class. 3 years of hands of experience in 3D CAD using Autodesk Inventor. Exposure in AutoCAD will be an added advantage but not a must. Exposure in Autodesk VAULT or equivalent software for PDM.
Experience
in equipment / product design and detail engineering with fair knowledge of material specification, fabrication detailing are preferred.
Experience
in design & detail engineering (preparation of GA, Fabrication drawings, BOM etc.,) of Pressure Sand filters, Self-Cleaning filters, Hydro-Cyclones, In-take screens, Filter Press, Clarifiers, Thickeners, Disinfection systems etc., are preferred.
Experience
in equipment design and detail engineering in the domain of Water and Wastewater Treatment is preferred or similar experience in the Oil & Gas, Chemical process and Power plants can be considered. Exposure to MS Office package for preparing necessary documents, excel files and ppt’s will be an advantage.
Experience
in working with international teams towards engineering design will be an advantage. Good communication skills to liaise with international teams; Extra miler / self-driven to meet the commitments / goals. Be analytical and problem solving.
