The Applications Engineer will be responsible for driving growth of outcome or performance-based contracts for pumping and treatment applications across the designated territory. Will put together technical as well as commercial proposals for moderate to complex customer process solutions, requiring performance/outcome guarantees on a long-term basis. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Selects appropriate equipment / materials to meet customer needs and to develop project costing and pricing. Generates customer proposals utilizing standard tools, seeks and gains appropriate approval levels. Accompanies and assists commercial teams on customer site visits – where a site appraisal/feasibility study is required. Plays an active role in the safety culture of the company, ensuring the safety of oneself and the safety of others. Administers and reviews submittal documents that have been prepared for customers. Coordinates with a wide spectrum of stakeholders to adhere to strict customer project timelines. Identifies opportunities to vertically integrate xylem products to be able to deliver end-to-end engineered solutions. Drives continuous improvement in how we design, cost, price and contract long-term outcome/performance contracts. Conducting training sessions for distributors and end users. Key Competencies: High-level of proficiency with MS Office applications. Good ability to communicate in English, Cross-boundary collaboration with stakeholders from other business areas and disciplines. Ability to engage and communicate effectively in customer-facing settings. Working understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Thorough understanding of common components and their application. Positive mindset with a focus on what can be done (rather than on what cannot be done). Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
