Job Summary
The Manager, Master Data oversees the development and implementation of Brenntag’s Master Data Management strategy on a regional level. The Manager, Master Data must ensure that Brenntag’s master data is accurate, consistent, secure and that it is governed effectively to support business operations and decision making. The Manager, Master Data will develop and lead teams of data operations professionals responsible for driving, deploying, and managing master data governance solutions. To understand current and anticipate future business needs, this role will have to own relationships with diverse business stakeholders and define relevant MDM strategic processes, questions, and solutions while coordinating projects with both MDM stake and the daily business activities. Responsibilities
and Tasks Defines the overall vision for the future state design of MDM at regional level by setting long-term goals. Leading MDM initiatives such as implementing new MDM systems, upgrading existing systems or integrating MDM with other enterprise solutions. Establish MDM governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures in collaboration with the Global team. Set operational standards and measurement indicators for data collection, storage, use at regional level, in-line with the global standards. Collaborate with other regions to ensure global and regional best practices are shared across Brenntag. Builds, manages, mentors, and inspires team(s); manages performance, goals, and development potential. Defines Maintenance Processes and Scope of MDM Tools Creates data flows & maps to identify critical data sources and data flow to support systems or reports. Governs the data flows & establishes connections with other system leads. Defines Merger & Acquisition Data Integration Standards: Defines the new standards for integration of master data along with global team. Responsible for MDM Project Design & Planning Facilitates MDM Community & OCM Deliverables Owns relationships with senior leaders in developing recommendations around policies, standards, and framework for data governance, and implements and maintains a data governance structure aligned to enterprise data governance. Engages with the industry to learn about best practices and gain insightful competitive and regulatory intelligence. and/or Training
Education
Minimum Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline, or equivalent level of experience in a data analysis/administration, data quality, data governance, or related field
Experience
10+ years of relevant leadership experience including developing and implementing data quality and data governance standards, practices, org structures, support models, and achieving business objectives. In depth experience working directly within ERP systems, with specialization in Materials Management, Sales/Distribution, or Finance a plus. Substantial experience in the field of data management Strong project management knowledge and skills
Experience
in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Industries, with a broad understanding of the regulatory compliance challenges that exist. Great understanding of Brenntag business processes is a plus. Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills as well as analytical prowess Ability to successfully lead decentralized cross-functional teams from a center-led position with minimal reporting authority. Strong management, coordination, and critical thinking skills as well as willingness to take initiative and to carry out the corresponding responsibility. Strong awareness for quality and results. Assertive and persistent. Open-minded with complex problem-solving skills
Experience
