Position Summary: The Associate Program Manager I (APM I) contributes to one or two projects and works at the intersection of cutting-edge research and research dissemination with relevant stakeholders. In this position you will oversee student teams and work with them to implement research and/or data collection. You will contribute to literature reviews and provide background research inputs. Under supervision, you will perform quality assurance tasks and contribute labor estimates for project proposals. Required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. Basic knowledge of research methods in either qualitative and/or quantitative research. Demonstrated ability to use desktop publishing, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, etc. Basic knowledge of data management, mixed methods/qualitative research methods, and/or analytical software (e.g. Excel, Qualtrics, Tableau).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
in one of AidData’s coding methodologies. Professional or academic experience in developing countries.
Experience

40% - Project Management: Manage multiple and diverse assignments in a team environment. Plan, organize, executes and track progress of own work in coordination with supervisor. Propose options/solutions when faced with setbacks and roadblocks. Implements work plans for a specific portion of a project under direct supervision. 20% - Quality Assurance: Develop knowledge of QA procedures and methodology. 15% - Supervision (student / staff management): Coaches at least one student worker / Research Assistant (RA). 10% - Methodology: Implement research or data collection methodology. 10% - Research Analytics & Design: Contribute to literature reviews. Provide background research inputs. 5% - Communication Skills (written, verbal): Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with diverse constituencies. Drafts internal memos and presentations of research outcomes. Relevant notetaking. Participate in outlining and drafting written materials. Hiring Rate: $50,000 Additional Job Description: Assignments include data collection, specialized research, agency organizational studies, strategic planning, and statistical analyses. Frequent contact with agency employees and managers to gather data or discuss findings.
