We are seeking a Director, Global Medical Communications - Japan to join our Medical Affairs team, supporting our Japan operations in a hybrid work model. In this role, you will provide strategic oversight of Medical Information and Scientific Communications while collaborating with Global Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Safety, and Commercial teams. When & where: Tokyo, Japan Hybrid work model 20% travel capability Discover your role: Oversee Medical Information team and Scientific Communications, ensuring compliant execution across therapeutic areas and vendor management activities Drive scientific communication strategy and Integrated Medical Communication Plans with Medical Directors and Field Medical teams Manage Medical Information Contact Center governance, custom and standard response documents, and promotional/medical review processes Lead congress strategy and execution for medical booths at international, regional, and local conferences Ensure country-level launch readiness through oversight of medical content deliverables aligned with medical strategy Optimize operational delivery through resource allocation, workload management, and innovative communication technologies Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to advance medical objectives and maintain audit-ready documentation You will foster strong relationships while upholding rigorous ethical standards with a patient-first approach This role requires: PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree 12+ years in Medical Communications, regulatory, or similar pharmaceutical industry roles People management and development experience Expert knowledge of Japanese healthcare regulatory environment and pharmaceutical industry requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven stakeholder relationship building Ability to translate complex scientific data for diverse audiences Experience working in dynamic, matrixed environments Does this sound like you?
