The Role The Launch Manager is responsible for ensuring manufacturing plants are fully prepared for the successful launch of new products, major program milestones, and strategic operational initiatives. This role leads plant launch readiness through the Plant Launch Glide Path System, coordinating cross-functional teams, removing barriers, managing launch risks, and ensuring launch objectives related to quality, timing, and operational performance are achieved. What You'll Do (Impact Areas) Launch Planning & Readiness Lead plant launch activities for new products and strategic business initiatives. Ensure all launch milestones and system requirements are completed according to the Plant Launch Glide Path System. Coordinate plant launch teams to ensure systems, equipment, resources, and processes are ready to support production startup. Ensure manufacturing, engineering, and quality standards are applied throughout all launch phases. Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as the primary interface with Program Management to ensure launch deliverables are properly completed and transferred to plant operations. Coordinate activities across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership teams. Ensure the organization has the necessary support structure and resources to achieve launch objectives. Remove barriers and escalate critical issues that could impact launch success. Launch Governance & Reporting Maintain ownership of the Launch Management System and ensure teams remain focused on launch objectives. Provide accurate and timely launch status updates to Plant Management, Regional Launch Leadership, and Executive Operations teams. Track launch metrics and ensure progress against established timelines and deliverables. Coordinate multiple launch programs simultaneously while maintaining execution excellence. Risk Management & Problem Solving Lead “Red Alert” escalation processes when quality targets, launch timing, or critical milestones are at risk. Drive issue resolution using structured problem-solving methodologies. Support teams in identifying risks, implementing corrective actions, and protecting launch schedules. Make critical decisions under pressure during startup and production launch phases. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety systems and procedures. Promote standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout launch activities. What Success Looks Like Launch objectives are achieved according to quality, timing, and operational performance targets. Plants are fully prepared to support new product introductions and production ramp-ups. Launch risks are proactively identified, escalated, and mitigated. Cross-functional teams execute launch activities on schedule with strong accountability. Accurate launch status reporting enables timely decision-making by site and regional leadership. Multiple launch programs are managed successfully without compromising quality or delivery expectations.
