A Day in the Life Value Access Strategy, Government and Market Access for Central Latin America play a strategic role in enabling sustainable patient access to Medtronic therapies by supporting health economics, payer engagement, health policy, and regulatory intelligence initiatives across key regional markets. The role connects evidence generation, value-based healthcare, stakeholder engagement, and funding pathways to support business priorities aligned with evolving healthcare system needs. The position contributes to regional decision-making by translating complex environments, coverage, payment, public policy, and healthcare system dynamics into actionable insights for the commercial team, and market access strategies. The Market Access & Market Development Specialist is responsible for developing, driving, and implementing value, public affairs, institutional relations, and market access strategies that enable sustainable funding, appropriate coverage, and optimal access for Medtronic’s key therapies across Central Latin America. This field-based role focuses on shaping a favorable healthcare by leveraging data analytics, monitoring public policies, and mapping healthcare ecosystem trends. Acting as a core bridge within regional team, this position translates political, regulatory, and payment insights into actionable market intelligence, drives robust advocacy initiatives with external stakeholders, and supports the commercialization process through strategic public tender alignment and policy monitoring. This role will work in a flex model in Bogotá.
Responsibilities
may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Provide continuous monitoring and strategic assessment of public policy, healthcare reforms, payment mechanisms, and regulatory developments across the region, translating insights into actionable market intelligence for leadership Build, map and sustain strong relationships with high-level decision-makers in the health sector, including payers, policymakers, industry association leaders, and other key external stakeholders across CELA Develop and execute data-driven, market access strategies for market access and stakeholder engagement plans aligned with regional priorities Lead the analysis of healthcare mark data, public procurement, trends, reimbursement databases, and local pricing regulations to identify commercial opportunities, institutional trends, and financial risks. Drive and support external advocacy initiatives focused on MedTech innovation, sustainability and Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC), collaborating with the Clinical Specialist to align macro policy goals with on-the-ground hospital implementations. patient access, value-based healthcare, and health technology assessment, contributing to policy dialogue with industry associations, scientific societies, and health authorities Lead the strategic value-proposition alignment and compliance mapping for public tenders and government procurement processes, ensuring bidding requirements reflects the technology´s institutional value Enable multidisciplinary collaboration, sharing knowledge with the CELA access team, ensuring seamless execution of joint strategic projects Represent the company with high-credibility, influence and professional diplomacy in medical device industry chambers, public forums, and stakeholder platforms relevant to the health ecosystem Required Knowledge and
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in medicine is required Five years of experience in the healthcare sector, specifically within public policy, government affairs, institutional relations, market access, or strategic market intelligence roles Three years of experience navigating the specific health systems and regulatory landscapes of Central Latin America within the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or other regulated healthcare industries Strong ability to apply data analytics to healthcare challenges, translating complex information into clean business insights and executive presentations
Experience
