Job Description: This role is responsible for managing the accounts payable (AP) administration functions within Intermountain Health Administrative functions include accounting, supplier management, payment management, system maintenance and auditing services. This role is responsible to ensure payables activities follow U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP). This role is responsible for ensuring that supplier maintenance has strong internal controls, a validation process and security. This role is responsible for overseeing the payment process, including special handling requests. This role directs interactions with Business Applications or Digital Technology Services (DTS) to ensure that the AP systems provide the necessary functionality and security. This role oversees the flow of AP related information to auditors and internal customers. This role is responsible for hiring, training, and developing personnel in the administration functions. Monday - Friday standard business hours, additional hours may be required periodically to support operational priorities, system implementations, audits, month-end activities, or other critical business objectives. Essential Functions

This is an enterprise-wide role leading the centralized AP function. This position works closely with IH's accounting managers, Treasury department, auditors, DTS leadership, compliance leadership, Supply Chain Organization (SCO) leadership, AP customers, vendors, and others. Oversees various software and data initiatives with DTS. Serves as liaison with DTS personnel to ensure that AP programming and support resources are used productively. Ensures that needed functionality is available for AP personnel. Directs implementation of new programs to gain efficiencies, expand automation or increase discounts. Manages the clean-up of errors in AP databases. Serves as the data steward for AP data and access. Strengthens controls and adherence to policies. Verifies separation of duties are maintained. Oversees the correction or elimination of 'Out of Balance' situations. Ensures that corrections are made for problems identified in disbursement related audits. Updates policies where needed to help ensure strong internal controls. Oversees verification of all new and existing vendors. Develops measurements to ensure policy adherence and maintains vigilance in watching for actual or potential frauds. Oversees the identification and claims process for unclaimed property due to IH. Coordinates with other departments and systems. Works with SCO and Materials Management leadership to see that process flows and accountabilities are defined. Gives and receives feedback from accounting managers and other customers. Provides information to compliance leadership for conflict-of-interest research. Coordinates the information to be provided to auditors for both internal and external audits. Maintains a network of contacts and relationships within IH and the external AP establishment for benchmarking and best practice sharing. Oversees the supplier setup and maintenance process. Ensures best practices are implemented in the review/validation process for all supplier information. Oversees the government regulatory reporting process (e.g., 1099, 1042S, etc.) and ensures IH follows all government regulations related to supplier information. Oversees hiring, performance management, and disciplinary process for team. Provides accurate, timely, and ongoing feedback. Ensures team is adequately staffed to deliver quality service and meet individual, team, and enterprise-wide goals and objectives. Ensures the department is meeting key quality indicators and standards, especially as it relates to customer service. Participates in the development and management of an operating and capital budget that is consistent with overall financial goals. Monitors and controls department expenses. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field preferred. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.

Education

with project management is required. Progressive AP or accounting experience is required.

Experience

leading and managing a team is preferred. Master's degree in accounting or business-related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, and be able to assess customer needs. Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment with precision and accuracy.
