Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Connectors (Java)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join Cloudera's Cloud Connector Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud connector solutions that enable seamless integration between Cloudera's data platform and various cloud providers and services. You will work on scalable, high-performance solutions that power data integration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. As a Senior Software Engineer you will: Design and implement cloud connectors that integrate Cloudera's platform with AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud services. Develop robust, well-tested code for data ingestion, movement, and synchronization across cloud platforms. Lead technical design discussions and contribute architectural decisions for connector frameworks and infrastructure. Collaborate with product, architecture, and infrastructure teams to define requirements and specifications. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and design patterns. Participate in code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive continuous improvement in code quality. Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments and implement scalable solutions. Document technical designs, APIs, and implementation details for internal and external audiences. Stay current with cloud platform updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices Required
Qualifications
Bsc/Msc in related field or equivalent experience 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on cloud platforms or distributed systems Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Go (one or more) Demonstrated experience developing cloud connectors, integrations, or middleware solutions Reasonable understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their services (storage, compute, networking)
Experience
with data processing frameworks and large-scale data movement Solid understanding of API design, REST, gRPC, and message protocols Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience
working in agile environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
with Apache Hadoop, Spark, or other big data technologies Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration Background in cloud-native application development
Experience
with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation Contributions to open-source projects Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
Experience
