Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager
Job description
JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way. Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward. What this job involves: As a Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of creating safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplaces for our clients and their employees. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop comprehensive HSSE programs while ensuring full regulatory compliance across multiple sites and jurisdictions. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership teams, translating complex regulations into practical, implementable solutions that protect people, property, and the environment. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees — and in this role, you'll directly impact how thousands of people experience safety and wellbeing in their workplace every day. You'll lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce hazards and promote a culture of safety excellence. This position demands someone who can balance technical expertise with strong communication skills, as you'll be training teams, presenting to executives, and partnering with facilities managers to embed HSSE best practices into daily operations. We choose to take the more inspiring, innovative, and optimistic path on our journey toward success, and we need an HSSE leader who shares that forward-thinking mindset. What your day-to-day will look like: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, security, and environmental management systems that meet or exceed local, national, and international regulatory requirements. Conduct regular healthcare facility site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across client portfolios to identify hazards unique to healthcare settings, evaluate controls, and recommend corrective actions that protect employees and building occupants. Lead incident and accident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Design and deliver engaging HSSE training programs for employees at all levels, from frontline workers to senior leadership, ensuring everyone understands their safety responsibilities. Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices, updating policies and procedures accordingly while advising clients on compliance strategies and emerging risks. Collaborate with facilities management teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure HSSE standards are maintained during routine operations, capital projects, and special events. Prepare detailed reports, metrics, and dashboards that track HSSE performance indicators, presenting findings to client stakeholders and recommending data-driven improvements. Serve as the primary point of contact during emergency situations, coordinating response efforts and communicating with authorities, clients, and internal teams. Champion a proactive safety culture by promoting employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and continuous improvement activities that make safety everyone's responsibility. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health, safety, security, and environmental management, preferably within Healthcare facilities, facilities management, or corporate environments. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and other applicable federal, state, and local HSSE legislation. An understanding of Joint Commission survey process and healthcare accreditation standards. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HSSE programs that measurably reduce incidents and improve safety performance. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and compliance audits. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences including executives, frontline employees, and regulatory officials. Proficiency with HSSE management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analytics tools for tracking metrics and generating reports. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline. Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or equivalent credential. Experience working in a global organization managing HSSE programs across multiple countries and regulatory frameworks.
