Despatch Supervisor
Job description
It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing! Despatch Supervisor responsible to manage efficient shift dispatch operations and maintaining high service standards. Play a crucial l role in ensuring and oversee the smooth shift dispatch operations, manage the team, coordinates loading of trucks, cage transfers to holding cages and personnel effeciently. Drive and maintain Team Connect and Shop floor development system. Ensure Despacthing of bread follows applicable SoPs and Work Instructions Ensure FIFO processes and stock management SOPs are followed Ensure recons are completed Supervise and coordinate the loading process to meet delivery requirements and 100% departure time Accurate verification of orders loaded on trucks (routes and allocated trucks must match) Supervision of Employees including allocation of work, performance management, manage discipline and labour manning. Monitor dispatch performance and workloads, hold effective TeamConnect and training sessions Utilize allocated cleaning materials in maintaining the high standard within the relevant work area Ensure set Ensure adherence to the Health and Safety regulations. Ensure allocated equipment is safe to operate and all safety features are operational. Ensure that all evident unsafe situations are reported, and attended to immediately. Ensure familiarisation and compliance with all company policies, practises and procedures and the manufacturing protocol. Follows safe workplace practices and can report workplace hazards Hold a TeamConnect meeting with the team Confirm team attendance and make the register for employees that are present and absent. Make adjusment to coverage if needed due to absences Participate and or identify non compliances to be addressed using the SGA process. Application of manufacturing Excellence Methodology i.e. MECP, 20 keys. Participate in all MECP activities Ensure PPE compliance and provide necesseary PPE and tools such as gloves, earplugs and etc Check the previous shifts reports Check for unsresolved issues, incidents, delays, transfers, closing stock Follow up on any outstanding tasks or pending decisions Ensure that all stock from Production and Intrerbakeries is inspected for visible damages, Expiry date and weight Ensure that all buyouts are received effectively Ensure that bread received from production is counted accurately and agree with Slicing supervisors and Security and sign bread/tinkies transfer sheet Communicate the expected buyout from other bakeries and plan accordingly such as splitting the duties amongst the loaders e.g. allocate loader that will offload, loading, emptying the cage, etc Reduce and maintain write-offs and losses to a minimum and be able to explain stock variances above 0.03% per shift/per day Ensure that BTS, additional and short loads are processed on daily basis Ensure PODs are submitted on daily basis to settlements In accordance with the employment equity plan of Tiger Brands and its employment equity goals and targets, preference may be given, but is not limited, to candidates from under-represented designated groups.
