Education
& Curriculum Specialist is responsible for providing coordination of the residency program’s educational curriculum and learner experience within the General Surgery Residency Program. This role supports residents, faculty, and program leadership through the administration of a comprehensive, ACGME-compliant educational program that promotes resident development, academic success, and program quality. Responsibilities
Curriculum & Didactic Program Management – 30% Participates in and manages the General Surgery residency’s formal educational curriculum. Plans, coordinates, maintains and tracks: Weekly protected didactic session (PDS) coordination Schedule speakers, rooms, materials, attendance tracking Manages ad hoc educational sessions Creates and maintains Curriculum Calendar Management Ensures alignment with residency educational goals and ACGME expectations Coordinates education opportunities across rotations/services Evaluation &
Education
Data Management – 25% Oversight of assessment systems and residency educational data infrastructure, including: MedHub evaluation workflows Faculty evaluations of residents Resident evaluations of faculty and rotations/services Monitoring completion/compliance Reporting and tracking evaluation trends Supporting program review, accreditation readiness, and educational metrics Board Preparation & Resident Academic Readiness – 20% Focus on resident preparedness for board-related milestones and longitudinal educational progression, including: ABSITE administration and coordination ABSITE prep curriculum and study planning Mock Orals coordination Tracking resident participation and performance trends Supporting remediation or targeted prep initiatives Technical Skills & Simulation Program Management = 15% Management of hands-on learning experiences and procedural skills curriculum, including: Annual skills lab coordination Robotics training sessions Cadaver labs Vendor relationships and scheduling Simulation/technical skills logistics Equipment and education resource coordination Certification & Graduation Requirement Coordination = 10% Oversight of mandatory certifications and resident completion tracking. Coordination of certifications such as: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Robotics certification tracking Graduation requirement monitoring Documentation and deadline management Required

BA in business, education, healthcare management IT or similar
Experience
2 Years’ experience working in an academic medical education program. Additional

Demonstrated data procurement and management skills, expert Excel user Proficient use of Microsoft suite of products; ability to learn new software programs Ability to turn data into information and present to a variety of audiences Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with individuals in different stages of their careers, peers, residents, leaders in the department and school Excellent verbal and writing skills Highly organized, accurate work product and strong ability to prioritize myriad of tasks

Highly Desired: Demonstrated knowledge of medical education and residency program requirements – ACGME as well as UW GME MedHub proficiency WordPress proficiency
Working Conditions
Telework 2-3 days per week possible. Ability to work over regular hours during recruiting and onboarding times of year.
