About the opportunity Join QIAGEN’s Centre of Excellence for Integrated Assays in Barcelona and contribute to advancing the QIAstat-Dx diagnostic platform. In this role, you will lead technical investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reliability. Working at the interface of microfluidics, materials science, and diagnostics, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and drive impactful product improvements in a regulated ISO 13485 environment. This is an onsite position in our Barcelona office. Your tasks include Leading technical investigations and continuous improvement projects for the QIAstat-Dx platform Designing and executing troubleshooting strategies to identify root causes across materials, manufacturing, quality, and field performance Optimizing microfluidic workflows and system performance to enhance product robustness Driving investigations related to customer complaints and implementing corrective actions Contributing to product development and innovation initiatives within integrated diagnostic systems Partnering with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to align on solutions and deliver improvements Ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and quality standards, including ISO 13485 Your profile Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field 3–5 years of experience in diagnostics, medical devices, or other regulated industries Hands-on experience in experimental design, data analysis, and root cause investigation Experience to microfluidics, cartridge-based systems, or integrated diagnostic platforms is highly desirable Experience working in regulated environments and familiarity with quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485) Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Clear and effective communication skills in English (mandatory).
