The Opportunity: A Career-Defining Role This is not a standard pre-sales position. This is an invitation to be the pioneering technical leader for a new category of technology in the Japanese market. SailPoint is seeking a high-caliber, deeply technical Principal Agentic Technologist to join our newly formed global Agentic Technologists team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, you will be the primary technical authority responsible for proving the immense value of SailPoint’s Agentic Identity Security products to our most strategic customers and prospects in Japan. You aren’t just selling a solution; you are defining a new market and establishing SailPoint as its undisputed leader. As the team's representative for the APJ region, you will join a globally distributed, elite group of principal-level technologists. Our mission is to unlock the potential of SailPoint’s global sales engineering scale and existing infrastructure, tapping into the powerful new agentic products SailPoint has released and is continuously innovating. What You'll Do: Pioneer the "Agentic Story" in Japan: Collaborate with world-class, like-minded individuals to build and iterate on technical assets that showcase how SailPoint gives organizations the confidence to securely build and govern AI agents at scale. Drive Technical Success: As our senior-most technologist in Japan, you will orchestrate the technical strategy for our most critical engagements. You will personally lead these complex opportunities from discovery through to final architectural design, unlocking customer potential by delivering our industry-leading Top-3 Agent Workshops (T3AW). Field Evangelism & Thought Leadership: Act as the premier SME for Agentic AI in the region. You will present at high-profile industry events, lead executive workshops, and enable the broader global sales engineering team on how to articulate and demonstrate our Agentic vision. Strategic Partner Enablement: Work closely with local partners to unlock the reach of our products. You will be responsible for creating and delivering scaled enablement programs, equipping partners with the deep technical knowledge required to bring SailPoint's agentic solutions to the wider Japanese market. Influence the Future: Partner closely with Product Management and executive leadership to provide critical "feet-on-the-ground" feedback from the field. You will directly influence the product roadmap by identifying the real-world identity challenges customers face when deploying Agentic AI. Masterful Solution Design: Function as a trusted advisor to customers, working with them to design secure, forward-thinking identity architectures that meet their strategic business goals in the age of AI. Skills & Qualifications Business-Level Japanese Fluency: Native or equivalent proficiency in Japanese is a firm requirement to effectively engage with customers, partners, and in-country leadership. Hands-on Agentic AI Proficiency: Deep, practical experience with Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.. You must be comfortable building or configuring sophisticated agents that interact with cloud platforms, other agents, and enterprise data. Cloud AI Platform Expertise: Demonstrable experience working with major cloud AI platforms like AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Azure OpenAI. Identity & Access Management (IAM) Foundations: A strong, commanding understanding of IGA/IAM principles, including Just-in-Time (JIT) access, least privilege, and lifecycle management. Non-Human Identity Expertise: Familiarity with securing service accounts, API keys, and machine identities (e.g., SPIFFE/SPIRE, workload identity). Advanced Development/Scripting Skills: High proficiency in Python (highly preferred for AI/ML work) and/or Java/JavaScript, with the ability to build custom demo integrations and automation scripts for POCs. Strategic & Technical Communication: The rare ability to explain "the why" to a CISO and "the value" to a CDO, while also being able to dive deep and explain "the how" to a Lead Architect or developer.
