Assistant Teacher. This position is expected to continue contingent on maintaining the required certification. Support Staff
Duties
This individual will oversee supervision and facilitate developmentally appropriate programming for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age by: 1. Promoting health and safety practices including sight and sound supervision, name to face checks before and after all transitions, handwashing and sanitation, etc. 2. Providing direct care to children, including but not limited to planning developmentally appropriate learning opportunities and curriculum enhancement. 3. Supporting staff throughout the facility as a long or short term substitute teacher. 4. Maintaining paperwork as required. 5. Pursue life long learning by participation in continuing education: 30 hours in the first year and 25 hours each year after. 6. Job Responsibilities
Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculums Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom Department: The unit of the UWEC Children's Nature Academy is an Accredited, 5 Star, Early Childhood program that strives to support children and families. The program is licensed for 180 children, ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. The program has 14 classrooms, and 21 staff members. It is open to UWEC students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. Compensation: The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Required
Qualifications
Entry level coursework required by the Department of Children and families. 6 months of experiences working with young children.
Preferred Qualifications
