We are seeking a proactive and people-oriented Assistant HR Manager to support the execution of HR strategies and day-to-day HR operations across the business. The successful candidate will partner with managers and employees to deliver HR programs and initiatives across talent management, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and HR compliance. Responsibilities
People & Business Partnership Partner with business leaders and line managers on workforce planning, employee engagement, talent development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, and employee-related matters. Support managers in performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews. Act as a trusted HR advisor and help drive a positive employee experience. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding. Collaborate with hiring managers to identify talent needs and implement effective recruitment strategies. Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires and facilitate integration into the organization. Employee Relations Manage employee relations issues in a fair, consistent, and timely manner. Conduct investigations where required and support conflict resolution initiatives. Foster an inclusive and positive workplace culture aligned with Brenntag's values. Performance & Talent Management Support the annual performance management cycle, goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews. Ensure compliance with internal compensation frameworks and policies. HR Operations & Compliance Ensure HR processes, records, and documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially. Support payroll-related activities and collaborate with external vendors where applicable. Ensure compliance with local employment laws and company policies. Participate in HR audits and reporting activities. Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to support decision-making. HR Projects & Continuous Improvement Support regional and global HR initiatives, including digital transformation, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and organizational change projects. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee services through automation and process optimization. Participate in cross-functional projects and change management initiatives. Job requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline. Professional HR certification (e.g., IHRP, SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD) will be an advantage. Minimum 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multinational corporation. Strong HR generalist experience across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR operations.
Experience
supporting managers and employees in a matrix organization is preferred. Strong knowledge of Singapore employment legislation and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday, BIPO) and Microsoft Office applications.
