Experienced Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Material) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Material) in Saint Charles, MO. This position offers the opportunity to enhance a candidate’s knowledge of the acquire process, as well as the overall execution of the business. Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) in Saint Charles has a broad portfolio of programs and customers, both domestic and international. As a member of the Weapons Estimating team the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support all Direct Attack weapons programs, gaining broader experience and visibility. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of budgetary and formal estimates and cost/price proposals for new business activities, contract changes and follow-on work. The ideal candidate will combine strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills. Position
Responsibilities
Develops estimates and prices from technical requirements through the design, build, and support stages of the program Leads development, and application of estimating, and pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques Guides business proposals, evaluates, and makes recommendations based on complex or unique requests for proposals, and substantiates estimates, and pricing Leads and performs analysis, and provides recommendations in support of pricing, and estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.) Coordinates and collaborates with proposal teams, and cost element functional owners to develop appropriate basis of estimate, and substantiation of cost estimates, proposals, and other related business decision data Provides fact-finding, negotiation and audit support of cost proposal artifacts, and coordinate responses through proposal teams Supports, prepares, and briefs senior leader-level presentations Identifies, assesses and implements changes to processes, tools, and techniques to simplify estimating, and pricing methodologies, and improve cost estimating accuracy Supports compliance activities Basic
Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's Degree or higher 3+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA) 3+ years of experience developing financial estimates 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets
Preferred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience): 5+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
Experience
with and knowledge of United States Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Experience
leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
