Initial Posting Date: 07/15/2026 Application Deadline: 07/26/2026 Agency: Department of Justice Salary Range: $6,182 - $9,361 Position Type: Employee Position Title: Power Platform Developer (Information Systems Specialist 6) Job Description: The Oregon Department of Justice, Information Services Section, is seeking a Power Platform Developer (Information Systems Specialist 6) to design, develop, enhance, and support Power Platform applications and automations that drive mission‑critical workflows across the agency. This role is essential in ensuring DOJ business programs operate efficiently and in full compliance with statewide and federal requirements. Operating within established governance, security, architectural, and development standards, this position builds solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Microsoft 365 technologies to meet defined business needs and deliver reliable, user‑centered applications. The successful candidate will apply strong technical skills to implement new features, troubleshoot and resolve issues, participate in solution design discussions, and provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for DOJ’s low‑code applications and automated workflows. While senior developers and architects establish enterprise governance and integration patterns, this position is responsible for accurately implementing those standards, analyzing requirements, producing maintainable low‑code components, and ensuring all solutions meet DOJ’s stringent security and compliance expectations. The role collaborates closely with business units, analysts, and senior IS staff to modernize systems, improve existing solutions, and ensure the ongoing stability and reliability of DOJ’s Power Platform environment. This role is a hybrid of remote work and in-office work. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business. Duties

(In Part) Power Platform Development & Configuration: Design, build, and configure Power Platform solutions—including Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Dataverse components—using DOJ development standards and governance requirements. Implement business logic, UI elements, workflow steps, and reusable components to meet functional, accessibility, and security expectations. Collaborate with analysts and senior developers to translate requirements and user stories into compliant, maintainable low‑code solutions. Operations, Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for Power Apps, flows, and Dataverse; troubleshoot logic errors, permission issues, connector disruptions, and workflow failures. Monitor performance and stability, participate in after‑hours/on‑call rotations, and escalate platform‑wide or governance‑related issues to senior developers when necessary.

Requirements

Analysis, Testing & Documentation: Work with program staff and analysts to understand business processes and refine functional requirements. Translate requirements into technical tasks and testable criteria. Develop and execute unit tests, assist in integration testing, validate flow logic and form behavior, and maintain clear documentation of components, data mappings, changes, and support guidance. Follow DOJ ALM standards for versioning. Environment, Data & Governance Compliance: Apply DOJ Power Platform governance policies, including naming conventions, data classification, environment usage, DLP boundaries, and lifecycle expectations. Support environment‑level tasks such as reviewing dependencies, validating solution components, monitoring run histories, and assisting with deployments across Dev/Test/Production. Elevate compliance or data‑handling concerns as appropriate. Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement: Participate in peer reviews, developer forums, and technical discussions; contribute to documentation improvements, best practices, and process enhancements. Engage in ongoing professional development to expand proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related technologies. Other duties as assigned. Required

Education

will be counted as experience if degree is in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or if a two (2) year accredited vocational training program was completed in information technology or related field. Associate’s Degree (or 2-year vocational training) = Two (2) Years Bachelor's Degree = Four (4) Years Master's Degree = Six (6) Years AND 3 years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Understanding of low code/no code development concepts and application lifecycle basics

Experience

building or supporting: Canvas or model driven Power Apps. Simple to moderately complex Power Automate flows. Familiarity with Dataverse and connecting Power Platform solutions to common data sources (SharePoint, Excel, SQL, APIs, etc.). Knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive). Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position. Must agree to comply with DOJ security and confidentiality requirements. Our Ideal Candidate Will Have Proficiency in reading, writing, and troubleshooting Power Fx expressions and basic flow logic.
