In this vital role as Global Development Operations Transformation Director you will serve as a strategic leader within the Innovation and Transformation team reporting directly to the Executive Director in Global Development Operations . This role will be responsible for driving the implementation and structure of Clinical Trial transformation initiatives that enhance clinical trial design operations and cross functional collaboration across a complex matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in clinical operations and a proven track record of implementing complex business and technical solutions within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. You will work across Global Development Operations, IT and local teams to ensure seamless integration of new Clinical Trial solutions, technologies, processes and tools in an efficient structured manner. This leader will collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross functional partners to align priorities manage interdependence, develop project structures and tools that deliver optimized trial solutions. You will be accountable for monitoring workstream dependencies, risk management and progress utilizing key performance indicators and mitigating risks to ensure the success of transformation efforts. In addition, you will create and provide input into the development of business cases for continued and ongoing solution development.
Responsibilities
Lead and support the implementation of Global Development Operations transformation initiatives Own end to end assigned project delivery and implementation Identify inefficiencies and recommend sustainable Clinical Trial solutions to improve operational performance. Ensure integration of transformation efforts with technological advancements and digital tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and address interdependence. Monitor progress and develop KPIs and assess the impact of transformation initiatives. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to project success. Conduct project scoping and chartering, define implementation strategy, and guide project completion Accountable for measuring and demonstrating tangible business impact of solutions and analyzing data to assess ROI and making continuous data-driven decisions to maximize value creation. Accountable for communication internally and externally to Amgen leadership and governance regarding project status, milestones, risks and value capture • Instill and maintain a culture of performance, continuous improvement, and diversity, inclusion, and belonging Implement project tracking and delivery best practices and structures aligning to the portfolio of development transformation projects What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 4 years of of transformation initiative experience OR Master’s degree and 7 years of of transformation initiative experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of of transformation initiative experience
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record of implementing digital technologies (e.g. eClinical EDC AI/ML applications decentralized clinical trials) to optimize clinical operations. Working knowledge of clinical trial lifecycle regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. GCP ICH FDA/EMA expectations).
Experience
working in a highly matrixed global organization with a strong ability to influence across functions such as Clinical Operations Clinical Development Regulatory IT and R&D. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute implementation strategies that drive engagement and sustainable adoption of new initiatives. Expertise in data driven decision making including the development and monitoring of KPIs dashboards and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma Agile). Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to translate complex goals into clear business value.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
