Head EHS, Ballabgarh Plant
Job description
Reporting: You will be directly reporting to the Manufacturing Director (based in Ballabgarh) with a matrix reporting line to the Director EHS & Business Continuity Asia Pacific (based in Shanghai). Role Scope: You will be leading the Environment, Health & Safety function for the Ballabgarh manufacturing plant. Designation: While the internal title is Manager – EHS, the role is comparable to a DGM/GM level in the external market, reflecting Goodyear's global job architecture. You will be responsible for the overall strategic development, implementation, and management of all EHS&S programs and compliance requirements at the factory. You will also ensure that EHS audits, compliance standards, and safety campaigns at the plant are aligned with regional EHS requirements. Key Responsibilities: You will be accountable for the strategic development, implementation, and management of the EHS business plan and programs at the Goodyear Ballabgarh Factory. This includes maintaining EHS records and monitoring progress against established targets and objectives. You will partner with the leadership team to drive change and define solutions that align with overall business strategy and objectives, including the company’s operating budget. You will provide leadership to the Environment, Health & Safety team by ensuring the right skills and competencies are developed to meet evolving business needs. You will ensure full compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, as well as Goodyear’s internal requirements. You will prepare executive-level reports to meet local, regional, and global reporting requirements. You will lead and facilitate EHS-related training programs for the team, plant personnel, and all associates. You will coordinate with government agencies to conduct annual inspections and certifications for all special equipment. Required experience and skills: You bring over 15+ years of experience in EHS compliance and program management within a large corporation or consulting environment, preferably in a similar industry. You have a strong working knowledge of U.S. and/or European EHS regulations and standards. You have experience in preparing government submissions and have demonstrated your ability to effectively engage with regulatory agencies as well as senior business leaders. Education: You hold a Degree or Post Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental studies. You are RLI certified. #LI-PS1 Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
