Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES Cost Accounting & Analysis Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services. Perform variance analysis and provide insights into operations and supply chain teams. Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with cost-related entries and reconciliations. Financial Planning & Support Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs. Analyze cost trends and KPIs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions. Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies. Support internal and external audits with cost accounting documentation and analysis. Maintain accurate records and documentation for cost accounting processes. Systems & Process Improvement Collaborate on ERP system enhancements related to cost accounting. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline cost accounting workflows and improve data accuracy. Support the Controller in driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Crane Business System. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. High integrity and alignment with Crane’s core values and ethical standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA certification preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
