Lead Mechanical Engineer - Product Design and Engineering
Job description
Essential Functions
(Responsibilities): Lead and manage the design, development, and verification of complex assemblies, sub-assemblies and sub-components Select appropriate materials, processing methods and equipment to facilitate manufacture Contribute to and coach engineers in the core deliverables Lead the execution of product design, validation, and certification of industrial instrumentation Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, tolerances, GD&T annotations, specifications, and design reports. Evaluate system level requirements by brainstorming with Product Specialists, Product Managers, and other peers throughout the organization Execute feasibility studies during concept phase of development Collaborate closely with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless integration Design and develop products considering global design standards & requirements Support sustaining and obsolescence activities across a broad product portfolio Qualifications/Skills
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university 5+ years’ experience with design and verification of industrial products Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for part design, assemblies, drawings, and design reviews. Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes. GD&T experience with demonstrated application in production drawings.
Experience
managing engineering changes using structured processes and tools.
Experience
designing mechanical products with internal electronics (PCBs, connectors, cabling, thermal considerations). Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems such as SAP and/or ECTR.
